favorite workout wear

Whenever I travel to the United States or Canada, I pack far more workout wear than usual. One, because I love working out while on vacation with more time to spare. Two, because wearing yoga pants and sneakers all day to grab coffee, go for a walk or even go shopping is perfectly acceptable. Naturally, I decided to skip the jeans and opt for a little something more comfortable when Mike and I biked around Stanley Park in Vancouver on Monday.

I have been getting a lot of questions in regards to my favorite workout wear and brands that I can recommend lately, so I thought I would take the bike ride around town as an opportunity to give you an overview of brands I love and trust when it comes to any athletic-inspired activities (or grabbing an açai bowl to-go).

Favorite workout wear: Lululemon, Adidas + Nike | Bikinis & Passports

Workout Favorites!

  • Lululemon: For many reasons, this brand makes the top of the list. If I had to dress in just one brand for the rest of my workout-life, it would be this one. Founded in Vancouver, BC in 1998, lululemon athletica is a technical athletic apparel company for yoga, running, training and most other sweaty pursuits. For years now, I have been buying lululemon and am nothing short of obsessed with the brand. Probably 80% of my workout wear is from lululemon, but my personal must-have are their tights – so comfortable and so flattering! In reality, my legs look nowhere as toned as they do in my lulus. The quality is amazing (I am terrible and throw everything in the washer + dryer after every single wear), but it also comes with the according price tag. A pair of tights will set you back around 100$, bras are somewhere around 50$ and tops around 60-80$ depending of the style (same in Euro, unfortunately). Don’t know where to start or what to buy? I love the Energy Bra (have 3 different ones), All The Right Places Crop or the Run On Crop and Swiftly Tech Long Sleeve for Winter.
  • Adidas: When it comes to running shoes, I am the biggest fan of the Adidas boost technology. It took some time getting used to the “sock-like” fit on my foot, but now I love it and have already moved on to my second pair – the new Adidas Ultraboost X for women. Also, I own a few pieces from the adidas by Stella McCartney collection (ie as an outdoor running jacket) that I love in terms of style and fit. The only thing I personally can’t really recommend is their yoga mat, since I feel like it is more of a home workout mat rather than good for yoga.
  • Hey Honey: “Founded in 2015 by sisters and yoga lovers Janka Oeljeschlager and Imke von Johnston, Hey Honey offers yoga-fashion and activewear that fulfills the fashion and quality demands of stylish yoginis and urban fitness queens alike”.
While the leggings are not my favorite and use some extra support, I love their sports bras for yoga! The tops are more like a crop top rather than bra, which I prefer since I feel little more dressed when doing yoga in just a bra and tights. I also have a black hoodie of theirs that I always wear on my way to the gym, SuperCycle classes or the yoga studio!
  • Nike: Last but definitely not least, I have to include Nike in the list. Aside from the whole “just do it” lifestyle they created, it is a brand that I have always owned and will probably always own. You simply can’t talk sports without Nike! I personally have various shoes of their’s – not so much for running but more for indoor workouts and training. I also own a couple of sports bras and 2 pairs of leggings. See one of the looks here.

outfit details: lululemon pants, UZWEI cashmere sweater, Acne Studios scarf, Won Hundred denim jacket, Hey Honey sports bra (not pictured), Céline sunglasses, Adidas Ultraboost X sneakers, Chloé backpack

Toller Post.

YES to lululemon being the best thing out there when it comes to workout gear. I was just recently telling my sister-in-law about how, if I could afford to, I’d buy only lululemon. I love that their tops are longer than usual and don’t ride up, that the material is anti-stink, and that even after a hundred+ washes this stuff holds up so well.
