where to eat in new york city?
Even though my trip to NYC was incredibly short, I also made sure to get to know a few new spots. I didn’t repeat a single thing I had done during my first two trips to the Big Apple, in order to discover as many new corners as possible. So, where to eat in New York City? The options are more or less infinite and it would probably take years to get a good overview of the cities culinary offerings. However, I do have a few recommendations I definitely want to share with you. These are places that I stopped by this time around and absolutely loved:
- Santina in the Meatpacking District: Located conveniently right across the street from my favorite jewellery store, ANNA Inspiring Jewellery, Santina is a coastal Italian restaurant that serves everything from brunch to dinner and cocktails inbetween. For a quick fuel-up, I stopped by for lunch and had an incredible kale sunchoke salad and coconut coffee. (820 Washington Street, Meatpacking)
- Terra Wine Bar in TriBeCa: On my first night in New York, I wanted to fight the jetlag and decided to wander out of the hotel to get moving for a bit after the 9hr flight. I ended up in TriBeCa for dinner with a friend, and we stumbled upon Terra. It looked inviting, down-to earth and perfect for a little outdoor dinner. Turns out the food was also delicious and very affordable for New York standards. We paid 35$ for dinner for two. Main dishes like pasta and salads come in around 12$. A great spot for warm Summer nights, or cozy fall evenings indoors as the wine list is extensive and the small-plates concept calls for a table filled with friends and good food. (222 West Broadway, TriBeCa)
- Whole Foods: For everything from pressed juices, coconut water, healthy to-go options and power bars to snack on, Whole Foods is my favorite grocery store in the US. Luckily, there was one close to the hotel and I re-designed the entire mini bar. Exchange beer and soda for green juices, flavored water and Lärabars, and I am one happy girl. (270 Greenwich Street, TriBeCa)
- Spice Market on 13th Street: For my last night in the city, I wanted a fun dinner with the girls. I joined Julia and Simone for lots of spicy foods and an incredible meal. The concept is a family-style dinner and we all shared lots of different platters. The food was so delicious, the atmosphere amazing and the spices super interesting. Literally, the same of the restaurant says it all. (403 W 13th Street, Meatpacking)
- Chelsea Market: This place is beyond words. I can’t believe I had never heard of Chelsea Market before, but I am so happy we stopped by – even if it was right after lunch at Santina and I wasn’t able to try any of the food there. The concept is easy and sure to impress: “A block long and a block wide and just a short walk from the Hudson River in the area of Manhattan known as the Meatpacking District, Chelsea Market has become in just fifteen years one of the greatest indoor food halls of the world, with more than thirty-five vendors purveying everything from soup to nuts, wine to coffee, cheese to cheesecake. Attracting 6 million national and international visitors annually, it is one of the most trafficked, and written-about, destinations of any kind in New York City.” You simply have to see it for yourself and eat your way through the entire block! (75 9th Avenue – between 15th & 16th Streets)
Do you have any recommendations of where to eat in New York City? Hopefully it won’t be another 5 years until my next trip, so I would love some suggestions!

Streetfood-stylishes Essen in sehr coolem Ambiente.

When I was in New York last year for fashion week I was totally lost when it came to choosing a place to eat,so we just ran around in the evenings and landed in super nice places that I can’t remember neither name nor the exact location haha 🙂

Hallo Vicky,
