CRAVINGS: pre-loved

A week ago, Kathi and I held a fleamarket at our office. Aside from the fact that we had so much fun meeting a lot of you, we also had some really interesting conversations about pre-loved items and how someone’s “trash” can be another person’s “treasures”. It got me thinking. What are my treasures? Why do some items only make it out of the back of my closet a few times, while others are in constant use? And how cool is it, that things I don’t love as much anymore, are items that make others come to our fleamarket and put a smile on their face? That’s probably the same thought the founders of Vestiaire Collective had. Only that they stepped up their game a notch and took the amazing idea of re-selling pre-loved designer items to the next level, meaning: online! Instead of you handing over your pieces to a second-hand store (which usually charges 50% of commission), or putting together a fleamarket yourself (which involves quite a bit of work and lots of schlepping – trust me), they offer a platform where you can shop and sell authentic designer items, as they live by th“no to fakes” motto and have a detailed authenticity control for every single piece before it is sent to the buyer. The perfect place for fashion lovers to part with their unloved (but no less amazing) designer items – or shop for new love!

Vestiaire Collective | Bikinis & Passports

For me personally, Vestiaire Colletive has recently become a resource for hunting down sold out items. Earlier this year (Jan. 3rd to be exact, judging by my profile), I was in the middle of going crazy over that Valentino bag, which was no-where to be found. Until it hit me: At some point, someone must have shopped all those bags. And maybe, just maybe, at least one of two people were already over it. As in: trying to get rid of it. So I signed up with Vestiaire Collective and put up an alert for all Valentino bags that came in. Even though my story already came to a happy end, I still have the alert active. Just to be sure, right? Who knows what steals might come in! To make a long story short: For today’s cravings, I wanted to introduce you guys to Vestiaire Collective as the perfect place to shop for pre-loved luxury items at a great price! Basically the best second-hand and vintage store you’ll ever come across, right in your living room!

1. A Chanel brooch is a classic piece, that can immediately add that special touch to any outfit. I wear it pinned to my cashmere beanie in Winter, with my denim jacket in Spring or a light sweater for Summer nights!

2. The first designer bag I ever invested in was a Rocco bag by Alexander Wang in timeless black with rose gold hardware. To this day, I absolutely adore the bag, and if you’re thinking of getting the same, this is a great deal with more than 300€ discounted on an authentic designer piece!

3. As you guys know, the medium lock bag by Valentino is my newest addition to the bag collection. There are a ton of Valentino bags available on Vestiaire Collective, so definitely have a look if you love them as much as I do!

4. These golden babes got away from me at the mytheresa sale last season. I adore my black version (such a versatile and comfortable pump!) and wanted the golden ones SO bad! I may just have to get them, now that I spotted them at Vestiaire Collective!

5. The Keepall by Louis Vuitton is such an iconic travel piece and I absolutely want to own one some day. Personally, I feel like these bags actually get nicer with time, as the patina on the leather gets darker, so this is a piece I would love to shop pre-owned!

Psst: Vestiaire Collective is currently offering a 15 € DISCOUNT on your first purchase over 100 €, with the code*: BIENVENU15
