TRAVEL TIP: Genussdorf Gmachl
Usually, by the time I check into a hotel, I have spent much of my time stalking every aspect of it. I spend hours browsing the image galleries, know the room categories by heart and have more or less memorized the menu. Researching and booking hotels is one of my favorite things about traveling.
That’s why it is a rare occasion to end up at a hotel with no expectation whatsoever and no idea about what awaits. Which was exactly the case 10 days ago when we checked into the Genussdorf Gmachl in Bergheim near Salzburg. The occasion was my best friend’s civil wedding and since the wedding lunch was planned at the Gmachl, we decided to go for the obvious and booked a room there as well. Little did we know that literally every aspect of the stay would blow us away.
Since the reason for our stay was a wedding, we didn’t really spend a lot of time taking advantage of all the hotel has to offer (various restaurants, a huge wellness area & spa, outdoor swimming pond, rooftop pool & saun,…), but have already decided that we need to come back for some wellness, amazing food and pure relaxation with a stunning view of the mountains.
Until we are back, and I can write up a detailed hotel review, I wanted to share with this travel tip for you. Summer still has a few amazing weeks in store for us and if you happen to be in the area, do me a favor and book a room at the Genussdorf Gmachl in Bergheim. You won’t regret it!
