Mid-January is usually when my tolerance for Winter starts to decline drastically. Up until Christmas Winter time flies by, then I am caught in the holiday spirit surrounded by my loved ones, start the new year with the best intentions and get excited about a bit of snow and a crisp blue sky in the mountains. However, after the 11th round of slushy snow and rain in the city, I am over it. Let alone the fact, that I have been in bed with a cold for the past two days and woke up to the side-mirror of my car gone thanks to a hit and run. Monday blues? Most definitely!

Aside from a serious case of the Monday blues, I am also over Winter in terms of getting dressed in the morning. I have been living in the same boots, coats and sweaters for weeks now. All of which I love, don’t get me wrong. Still, I would love to change things up a bit. Add a bit of linen, a denim jacket instead of those heavy coats or wear my favorite flats again. Since the current temperatures don’t allow for much change when it comes to warm knits and shearling-lined boots, jewellery and a beautiful watch have become my daily touch of glam. Especially the new Omega De Ville Trésor, which I also wore as the clock struck midnight on December 31st to ring in the new year…

Even though you will find me wearing bleached jeans and a sweatshirt most days, a beautiful watch always adds a special touch to any outfit. I still remember how, for many years, I wondered what men found so fascinating about watches. It is a piece of jewellery. A personal treasure. Simple as that.
