It seems like a lifetime ago that I claimed to “not be a dress girl”. Now, with Summer in full force and temperatures climbing above 30°C, I cannot imagine a life without a closet full of light and airy dresses.
Let’s face it, our motivation to get dressed in the morning has seen better days than in 2020. After weeks of lockdown and self-quarantine, chances are we have gotten a little too used to wearing sweats 24/7.
A small outdoor space does not necessarily mean less options when it comes to fun in the sun. As far as our apartment goes, we are very much spoiled with two separate terraces.
It is barely 4pm as I am typing this and the sun is nowhere to be seen. Short days, cold weather and gray skies are generally a key-player in my need to escape to a warm and sunny place, far far away.
There is always a certain magic that comes with a city located by a large body of water. It provokes an inner calm that is hard to compete with.
Summer is here. Finally. As much as I complained about the overly rainy and cold May to most everyone that crossed my path, I do love the fact that it puts things into perspective and makes me so much more appreciative about the arrival of warm, sunnier days.
There is nothing quite as elegant and springtime-appropriate as a crispy white blazer. But hey, I get it, white can be intimidating.
Generally speaking, hotel beds are pure bliss. Am I right? Especially the ones at the Shangri-La in Vancouver (but more on that in the next post).
Mid-January is usually when my tolerance for Winter starts to decline drastically. Up until Christmas Winter time flies by, then I am caught in the holiday spirit surrounded by my loved ones, start the new year with the best intentions and get excited about a bit of snow and a crisp blue sky in the mountains.
