To me, “home” is defined more by emotions rather than by geographic location. Theoretically, there have been many places that I used to call home throughout the past 30 years.
While I could start this post by writing about all the ways I have been busy over the past few weeks, highlighting all of the wonderful things that I get to experience, fact is:
It has barely been 14 days that I have been back in Vienna after our vacation, but for some reason it feels like our perfect week in Vancouver was ages ago.
Visiting a newly opened hotel always has pros and contras. A few advantages and a whole bunch of possible risks. While it is exciting to be amongst the first to explore a new destination, rest your head on a fluffy fresh pillow and dip your feet in the pool before thousands that will follow, you can also end up serving as their personal human guinea pig.
Linen never needed much of a revival. It has always been a major summer staple but has appeared more and more on my personal watchlist in recent times –
To me personally, travel has always been multi-dimensional. It is not simply a beautiful beach, a welcoming hotel or an agenda filled with sightseeing that makes a trip worthwhile.
If you have ever found yourself researching hotels for New York City, chances are pretty high that you have come across, or heard of The Standard High Line Hotel.
I’ll take Paris any day – even if it is just for 15 hours en route to the next destination. And even more so when the sun is out and I get to spend the night in one of my favorite corners of the city.
Well, it looks like someone took a little vacation. That someone being me (no new post in 12 days, say what?!) and the vacation being NYC, The Hamptons + Montauk, followed by a bachelorette weekend in Amsterdam.
Last week’s warm weather in the city in combination with dinner at Catch NYC, followed by drinks at Soho House was the perfect excuse to finally wear my new top –
Just like every year, Coachella is taking over April and everyone’s Instagram feeds as we are currently between weekend 1 and 2 of the über-famous festival in the California desert.
I am never sure which meal of the day is my favorite. While I am a serious sucker for a good breakfast (preferably in the sun), dinner is the only time I really get to sit down with Mike during the week.
Usually I look back on vacation photos with a heartache for that carefree feeling and sunshine. When I came back from Australia in November, Winter had just started in Vienna.
After sharing some of my favorite things to do, eat and see in Vancouver, I also wanted to share a full hotel review of the Fairmont Pacific Rim with you.
“Beautiful, big white blossoms on dry cactuses” – a perfect way of describing the magic of a wedding that took place in the middle of the California desert last Wednesday.
Somewhere between Downtown and Coal Harbour…
My love story with Vancouver started back in 2008. Almost 2 years after Mike and I started dating, we booked our first trip to British Columbia to visit his family in Vancouver.
Whenever I travel to the United States or Canada, I pack far more workout wear than usual. One, because I love working out while on vacation with more time to spare.
Even though trench coats are definitely to be considered a timeless closet staple and have been around for years and years, I feel like they are having a major spotlight moment right now.
Yesterday I turned 29. Old? Not sure! Happy? Definitely! To celebrate my birthday this year, Mike and I decided to hop on a plane and spend 3 days in Istanbul.
Berlin and I didn’t always have the best relationship. It took me a while to fall for the city and all it has to offer (especially when it comes to food).
I have always found myself drawn to things that sparkles. I am not sure if the lack of a Y-chromosome is to blame or if it is simply my personal taste, but anything embellished instantly catches my eye.
To say this week went by quickly would be an understatement. It seems that literally 5 seconds ago, it was Monday and I was boarding a plane to Berlin for Fashion Week.
You know as they say: Save the best for last! Even though I loved every single second of our Australia trip, our last stop in Byron Bay was the cherry on top.
It took me all of 5 minutes to fall in love with Sydney. The moment I stepped outside our Airbnb apartment in Coogee and saw the ocean literally a few steps away, I knew it was a special place.

here are not a lot of specific memories I have from my early childhood. Don’t get me wrong, I had the most amazing parents, siblings and always lived in a happy home.
You asked – I answer.
Every time I travel, I receive so many questions from you. That’s why I decided to take you to Milan Fashion Week with me and answer a few of the most frequently asked questions.
Hey Friday, you look mighty fine today! There are plenty of reasons to get excited about Fridays, but today our flight to Ibiza is reason N°1 on my list.

ilan in September is nothing short of beautiful – even despite the massive amount of people in the city enjoying the last bits of the Italian Summer.
September has brought along Fall sooner than expected. And my new site design has taken a bit longer than expected. As much as you can plan ahead, there are certain things you simply can’t rush –
In my head, September always belongs to Summer rather than Autumn. None-the-less, it is a month of transition. The days become shorter again and the nights cooler.
As much as I love the freedom of being my own boss and the option of working from home when I feel like it, I also know that I require certain parameters in order to be productive.

Same spiel as every day: the alarm rings at 7:15am and almost intuitively we make our magnesium citrate drink, pull some oil and get dressed – this time in workout clothes since I have a personal trainer lesson after breakfast.
When I was younger – growing up in Southern California – driving up to L.A. was always a highlight. It was usually connected with some sort of weekend activities and my parents would take the time to drive through Beverly Hills with us kids to go “house hunting”.
Tucked away behind a big, dark green hedge, you’ll find the L’Horizon Palm Springs on East Palm Canyon Drive. What awaits behind said hedge is my new favorite boutique hotel in the world (setting the bar high in only the second sentence, I know).
Vienna is famous for it’s many traditional balls. While the peak of the ball season is usually January and February with the world-known Opera Ball, June also has something amazing to offer when it comes to Vienna’s ball culture:
Originally, we picked Palm Springs as a destination during our California trip because it more or less guarantees good weather and since there is not much to do in the desert (or so we thought), it is a perfect excuse to spend the days being lazy by the pool and sipping on cocktails.
It has been 13 years since I lived in Southern California (Orange County). Back in the days, we used to go up to Los Angeles occasionally, but not too often.
Berlin and I, we didn’t always get along. The German capital always felt too cool for me. But then we started to get to know eachother and fell in love.
As amazing as luxurious 5-star hotels are, there is always something special about a stay at a boutique hotel. They may not have the fanciest rooms, biggest breakfast buffet or a turndown service, but they have so much personality and charm!
This week, it has been a bit quite here on the blog. I’ve been in Israel since Tuesday morning and as much as I love to travel, it also means that I have hardly any time at the laptop.
As of late, I haven’t been very creative when it comes to my outfits. I have fallen head over heels for a combination of bleached denim (preferably mom jeans), my simple black Gucci Princetown slippers and a white shirt or blouse of some sort.
For our girls-trip to Marrakech, we were lucky enough to stay at the beautiful Four Seasons Resort Marrakech, which was my 4th time staying at a Four Seasons Hotel &
If you visit Paris, the typical croissant and café au lait is more or less obligatory at some point during your trip, but for most days, I personally prefer a bowl of granola with almond milk, eggs and avocado toast or porridge.
Tucked away along the idyllic hillside of Cap Vermell, the newly opened and first European Park Hyatt resort awaits just 50 minutes from Palma de Mallorca.
I can’t believe it has already been 4 weeks since I’ve spent my afternoons in the hammocks by the white beach of the Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel and Villas.
In a very strange way, Abu Dhabi has stolen my heart. To be honest, I can't tell you why, but after my 3rd trip to the Emirate state, I am more sure than ever and in my mind, I am already planning round 4. To me, Abu Dhabi is extremely interesting...
For the past two years, I have extended my Summer with a bit of September sunshine on beautiful Ibiza. While I simply adore Eivissa, I am not the right person to write about the parties and nightlife on the island, since I haven’t really experience that so far.
If you have ever found yourself researching hotels for New York City, chances are pretty high that you have come across, or heard of The Standard High Line Hotel.
